You need to subscribe to the group. See How do I join a group? Once you are a member of the group, you will be allowed to add content based upon the criteria set by the group owner. All the options available for adding content will be in the group menu option on the left hand side.
You should use the group menu option on the left hand side. By default you can create a blog, a page, an event or a forum entry.
This is a quick How To for ensuring your profile show's up in BuddyFinder searches.
1. Enter you post code (or at least the first 3 digits) in your profile.
2. Under the 'Contact Settings' section, ensure you tick the box for 'Personal Contact Form'. This will ensure other members can contact you. Note, your email address is safe, we do not reveal this information to anyone.
You can access and edit your profile by going to 'my account' on the left hand menu.
Ok, so the first step is to either find a group which matches the type of activity or has an open remit to the type of activities catered for. Or you set up your own group.
If it’s your own group you would use the ‘create an event’ option. Once the event is created, you can either invite people or just see who signs up to it.
If it is a group you are a member of, you may be able to do the same as above, but depending on the group permissions you may not. In which case you would contact the group owner, or create a blog entry in the group to request the event be added.
Use the request group option in the left hand menu bar under your user ID. Complete the details and hey presto, you are the proud owner of a group!
That’s easy. Just click on the groups option on the menu bar and search for a group based on location or type. You can also use the group browser to drill down by area.
Click on the buddy finder option in the top menu bar, or search for local groups by clicking on the groups option in the top menu bar.
Once you have set up your event, use the invite friend option in the group menu to email the people you want to invite. Add in a message with the date of the event and they will easily be able to find the event in your group and sign up.
Note that all current members of the group will automatically receive an invite to a new event.
Just click the subscribe option on the left hand menu under the group name. Note, some groups automatically accept new members, some of them manually accept you. So be patient if you are not a member straight away.
Easy, they navigate to your group and click the subscribe option on the left hand menu under your group name.
